MALTA ~ Valetta - UNESCO ~

... Beautiful view of Valletta, the “Fortress City” located on the rocky peninsula of Mount Sceberras...
a visual masterpiece and heritage gem... this 16thC walled city has remained remarkably preserved... with many elegant houses with a view of the sea at the end of every cobbled street... famous for its palaces and monumental churches, as well as its island atmosphere... one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world... with a great selection of nice stamps👍... Thanks a lot Rafal!【ツ】

"The elegant spire of St. Paul's Anglican church and the massive dome of the Carmelite church which rise over the spectacular fortifications dominate the river of Valletta from the Sliema side, just a short ferry ride away."

Malta is a small country in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea between Italy and North Africa. Malta is made up of an archipelago of islands, the three largest of which are inhabited.

Founded in 1566, Valletta is Malta’s capital city and is one of Europe’s smallest (and southern-most) capital cities.

Valletta was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980.
