ITALY ~ Sila National Park - Calabria ~

... Great new National Park for my collection👍...  as the “Green Heart of Calabria,” Sila National Park is a stronghold for a variety of rare flora and fauna in the region... it's one of Italy's most heavily wooded areas... approximately 80 percent of the Park is forested... Sila is also noted for its lakes and beautiful contrasting landscapes with quaint and welcoming villages... it's a high plateau with wide horizons, rich in flowing waters, having a fresh and healthy climate... Thanks a lot Gian Luca and Raffaella! (✿ ♥‿♥)

Sila National Park is an area of protected countryside located in the region of Calabria in southern Italy. It covers an area of approximately 737 km² and was established in 1997, replacing the old Calabria National Park together with the Aspromonte National Park.

Geographically, Sila National Park can be split into three regions: Sila Grande (Large Sila), Sila Greca (Greek Sila), and Sila Piccola (Small Sila).
