CZECH REPUBLIC ~ Kutna Hora - UNESCO ~

... Lovely panoramic view of the Cathedral of our Lady at Sedlec and the Church of Saint Barbara (patroness of all miners, Kutná Hora was a mining town)... both symbolising the wealth this city derived from silver mining... the monumental Cathedral of St Barbara is a jewel of the late Gothic period,...  construction of the church began in 1380's and was finished in 1905, after more than 500 years...  the Cathedral of Our Lady at Sedlec, part of a Cistercian monastery is a unique Baroque monastery church with Gothic elements.... originally, there used to be a Romanesque church from 1142, but it was destroyed in the 13th C... not long after the disaster, a new Gothic, now five-nave basilica was built there in forty years... Thanks Lenka!【ツ】
