SCOTLAND ~ Culzean Castle ~

... Starting with a beautiful view of one the grandest and most iconic country estates in Scotland...  perched on the Asyhire cliffs, the castle has breathtaking views down to the sea... known for its elegant oval staircase, circular saloon, painted ceilings and delicate friezes... it is also part of a larger country park... 600 acres of beautiful coastal countryside full of way-marked paths... with a Walled Garden, the Cliff Walk, the Swan Pond and a Deer Park to name just a few... US President Eisenhower also stayed here several times and the top floor of the castle is now the very luxurious and exclusive Eisenhower hotel... one of the most exclusive places to stay anywhere in Scotland...Thanks soooo much Andrene!(✿ ♥‿♥) Must have been great growing up near such an amazing place and visiting it again😊

Culzean Castle is on the coast of Scotland overlooking the Firth of Clyde, which is a body of water between Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Culzean Castle was built in the late 18thC for David Kennedy, the 10th Earl of Cassillis, one of the oldest clans in Scotland and designed by Robert Adam.

The Earl was the head of the Clan Kennedy, and the castle remained in the Kennedy family until 1945, when it was turned over to the National Trust for Scotland in order to avoid inheritance taxes.
