... First of two wonderful postcards for my National Park collection💚...and you have been warned by this lioness sitting on a road sign near Aroe waterhole overlooking the area... "Stay In Your Car"😁... one of the natural waterholes in the park... home to one of the largest surviving wild lion populations in Africa... and the area around Etosha National Park is also one of the last remaining strongholds for wild lions in the world... this park is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country... it is easily accessible and a sanctuary for wildlife and birds... Thanks a lot Alena!(✿◠‿◠)

Etosha National park was proclaimed as Namibia's first conservation area in 1907 but became a NP in 1967.Today the Park covers an area of nearly 22.912 km² and it is one of the largest NP in Afrika. Within the eastern part of the park an approximately 5.000 km² large salt pan can be found, which was formed about 2 million years ago when the Kunene Delta dried up and its riverbed shifted.
The park is home to nearly 114 mammal species and over 340 bird species.
The word "Etosha" comes from a Ndonga word meaning "Great White Place." This refers to the Etosha pan, a 120km long dry lake bed which makes up a large part of Etosha National Park.
