GERMANY ~ Celle ~

... A nice postcard showing some buildings designed by Otto haesler (1880-1962)... his settlements and buildings still characterize the cityscape today... although he was not a member of Bauhaus but only begun the use a similar style since 1924... at this point he already worked as architect for nearly 20 years... with stamp celebrating the politician Otto Braun’s 150th Birthday (1872-1955)... and as always a great special postmark😊... Thanks a lot Dustin! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Otto Haesler was, along with Walter Gropius and Hannes Mayer, one of the pioneers of the Neues Bauen, or New Architecture. He built several important housing estates in this style in the town of Celle, but his best-known building is the AltstÀdter School, built between 1926 and 1928.
