SPAIN ~ Sant Jaume de Frontanya - Bergueda - Catalonia~

... Pretty view of one of the smallest settlements (only 30 inhabitants) of Catalonia in Pre-Pyrenees Region... the village is a small group of a little over twenty houses, arranged in part in two streets which converge in a square where the parish church is located.... well known for its peace and tranquility... the magnificent Church of Sant Jaume de Frontanya dating from the 11thC is located on a cliff that dominates the village... a perfect architectural example of the first Catalan Romanesque, both for its imposing dimensions and for the harmony of the forms... the only surviving building of the former Augustinian monastery secularized in 1592... Thanks a lot Josep & Assumpta! \_(♥‿♥)_/

Sant Jaume de Frontanya is located in the shadow of the Sierra de Catllerà,  at the beginning of the southern slope of the Pre-Pyrenees, below the peak of Pedró de Tubau (1543 m).

A mountainous orography occupied by Eurosiberian forests, with a predominance of Scots pine, oak  and pastures, makes it easy for agriculture, livestock and tourism to form its economic base.
