... Sweet and wonderful art postcard of Frau Holle/Mother Hulda💜... it is said that Frau Holle brings the first snowflakes of the year... as she shakes her pillow, a gentle snow comes, covers the Earth and put the world to sleep... a motif from the fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm... for me till now an unknown story... with even so cute matching stamp (from a set of 3) and great first day postmark👍... Thanks Dustin! (✿◠‿◠)
"Frau Holle" also known as "Mother Holle", "Mother Hulda" or "Old Mother Frost") is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm in Children's and Household Tales in 1812.
Frau Holle has origins in Norse and German mythology, where she is revered as a goddess of the underworld, the land of the dead, and guardian of young maidens and spinning and weaving.
She is also acknowledged as an ancient sky-goddess who rules the weather, going back to Neolithic times.
