... Nice self portrait in ink and pencil on paper of one of the most important Belgian artists after World War II... Raveel's style evolved throughout his career, from abstract to figurative.. it is characterised by bright colours and silhouettes, which are often cut out of the work... often associated with pop art because of its depiction of everyday objects and does not fit within a single trend... Roger Raveel would have been 100 this year and Bpost celebrates his birthday with a sheet of great stamps depicting a few of his works... there were no special Bpost events in 2020 and still none this year😔... so, you had to go to the post office in Brussels to get the special first days cancellations... Thanks to Johan I still got them!👍(✿◠‿◠)

His works are mainly in the Stedelijk Museum in Ghent, In the Museum of Modern Art in Arnheim, Netherlands, and the Roger Raveel Museum in Machelen-aan-de-Lei, where he was born.
Bozar is set to host a large exhibition of his work in 2021.
