GERMANY ~ Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum ~

... Great neoclassical museum view... set in the heart of the city located in a pedestrian only zone... it houses a permanent collection documenting the history of the Braunschweig area ranging from its early history to the present... additionally, the museum plays host to a wide range of temporary exhibitions... but the museum will close soon!!!... in the next six years😲 it is to be renovated and converted for around 54 million euros😲.... the newly designed, accessible rooms and modern museum technology will offer flexible options for exhibitions and participative event formats... the changes will also make the museum more climate and environmentally friendly... with lovely children's themed stamp and wonderful "The wolf and the seven little goats" special postmark💛...
Thanks a lot Dustin! (♥‿♥) →   http://postcardsblogatdustin.blogspot.com/

Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum (BLM) is a history museum in Braunschweig operated by the state of Lower Saxony. The museum is scattered on four locations: Vieweghaus, Hinter Ägidien (both in Braunschweig), Kanzlei (Wolfenbüttel) and Bauernhausmuseum (Bortfeld).

The museum's history dates back to October 11, 1891, when it was founded in the Duchy of Brunswick as Vaterländisches Museum für Braunschweigische Landesgeschichte and is located in the former publishing house of Vieweg Verlag,

In 1938, the museum was renamed to Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum für Geschichte und Volkstum. This name remained until December 31, 1982.
