The Narochanski National Park is located in the north-west of the country and is part of the Belarusian Lake District. It is named after Lake Narach around which the national park is centered. The park was established in 1999 and encompasses an area of 87.000 hectares.
As many as 43 lakes are situated in the national park, including 4 groups: Naroch group, Myadel group, Bolduk group and Svir group with the largest Belarus’ lake Naroch (79.6km2).
