ETHIOPIA ~ Oryx - Awash National Park ~

... It's been a while but today a can add a fantastic new National Park to my collection😍... this is one of the few places in Ethiopia where you can see some larger mammals in between the acacia shrubs and dry savanna... the wildlife resource are mainly  Beisa Oryx, Warthogs, Crocodiles, Kudus, Gazelles, Baboons... the park is also considered as a paradise for bird lovers, as the park is home to more than 400 species of birds... the Fantale Crater is another must-see spot in Awash National Park, offering great scenic views from the top.... unfortunately a large part of the park is used for non-conservation related activities ranging from extensive grazing, to permanent settlements... with nice selection animal stamps👍...Thanks a lot Hobby!!乂❤‿❤乂

The park covers an area of 756 km², comprised mainly of acacia and grassland, but with an interesting range of volcanic landscapes and located at the southern tip of the Afar Region.

The park takes its name from the Awash River, which forms the park’s southern boundary with some spectacular waterfalls near the park headquarters.

In the middle of the park is the dormant volcano of Fantale, reaching a height of 2007 meters at its top.
