CHAD ~ Independence Monument - Place de la Nation - N'Djamena ~

... Another new African "gem" to add to my collection👍... not a country where you have the chance to get mail from very often... slowly but steady my list of missing African countries is getting shorter ʘ͜͡ʘ.... situated in the center of the continent... Chad is estimated to be one of the areas for where the human species originated... but a combination of high poverty, frequent conflicts, and the risk of both droughts and floods means this central African is very vulnerable to climate change... Thanks a lot Zhang!!ヽ(ヅ)ノ
Chad ( named after the huge Lake Chad) is a landlocked country located in Central Africa and bordered by Sudan, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria, With a total territory of 1,284,000 km² that covers desert and rainforest, it is the fifth largest country in Africa. The country gained independence in 1960, after the departure of the French.

N'Djamena is the largest city and the economic and commercial capital of the country. The name N’Djamena was taken from the Arab name of a nearby village, Nijamina or Am Djamena, meaning “place of rest“

Place de la Nation (Independence Monument) is located in N'Djamena, across the Presidential Palace.
