SRI LANKA ~ Unawatuna Beach ~

... Even tough postcard nr2 shows once more a beautiful peaceful beach, I read disturbing sad news about my "paradise" island... about communal violence involving members of the majority Buddhist Sinhalese community and minority Muslims... Facebook and other social media services were blocked or restricted across Sri Lanka on Wednesday afternoon to prevent the spread of anti-Muslim posts... The district of Kandy has been at the centre of the storm... Hope everything is OK for you Ravindra ☹... Thanks a lot!!【ツ】

Unawatuna is a coastal town in Galle district of Sri Lanka located  on the west coast of Sri Lanka and only 6kms from Galle Fort.

It is one of the biggest tourist destinations on the island and is the most “famous” beach, a  banana-shaped beach of golden sand and turquoise water, surrounded by green palm trees..
