I think almost everyone has heard of the wonderful story about a boy who refused to grow up... most of us thanks to the Disney classic Peter Pan (1953)... or the later movie Hook ...  he was born and buried in this attractive little town... the house is now a museum dedicated to telling the story of J M Barrie... and there are at least 3 statues of Peter Pan... with sweet tiny Christmas stamp... Big Thanks Andrene!! \_(♥‿♥)_/

"So come with me, where dreams are born, and time is never planned. Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings, forever, in Never Never Land"

Sir James Matthew Barrie, born on May 9, 1860 in Kirriemuir, was a Scottish novelist and playwright, best remembered today as the creator of Peter Pan or The Boy Who Would Never Grow Up.

The son of Scottish weavers, he moved to London to pursue his interest in becoming a playwright. There he met the Llewelyn Davies boys who inspired his masterpiece.

J.M. Barrie died on June 19, 1937, in London, England. As a part of his will, he gave the copyright to Peter Pan to a children's hospital in London. After his death, Barrie's beloved characters were transformed into animated figures in the Disney classic Peter Pan (1953). The story was also the basis for the 1991 film Hook. And a live-action version of the story, Peter Pan, was released in 2003.
