SRI LANKA ~The Viceroy through Tea Plantations in Nuwara Eliya - Colombo ~

...After receiving soooo many wonderful postcards from  "the pearl of the Indian Ocean" each new one still amazes me... beautiful steam train...it stands as one of the most scenic journeys to be done on rail in the world...an experience the reminiscent of a past colonial era...the train trip will take you through fifty six tunnels.... Thanks a lot Ravindra!! (✿◠‿◠)
The very first steam trains were running in Sri Lanka to bring Tea, the greatest commercial export of the colonial Ceylon, to Colombo.

The Viceroy Special a vintage steam train and the only one currently in operation in Sri Lanka, offers a more luxury travel experience.  Complete with period fittings, a bar and smoking area, dining and recreation area, plush seating with an observation cabin, on board music and Wi-Fi, and four course menus.

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the hill country of the Central Province and is is the administrative capital of Nuwara Eliya District.  Its name means "city on the plain (table land)" or "city of light". It is at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is considered to be the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka.  Nuwara Eliya is known for its temperate, cool climate — the coolest area in Sri Lanka.
