Vaison-la-Romaine is situated between the Rhone Valley and the Mont Ventoux in the Vaucluse Department.

The gallo-roman remnants are spread over 15 ha, this makes Vaison-la-Romaine the largest archeological field in France.

The bridge is classified as "Historic Monument" since 1840. Le Pont Romain is one of the largest in the Province of Narbonne (barrel vault dating from the 1st century with 17,20 m opening 9 m wide). It is the only unusual Antique bridge still used today.
