The large and well-liked floating market at Damnoen Saduak is located about 80 km southwest of Bangkok in Ratchaburi province and is one of Thailand's most well-known tourist attactions.
The market name comes from the canal that it sits upon, the canal was dug in the reign of King Rama IV by soldiers from 3 provinces, Ratchaburi, Samutsakorn and Samutsongkram to connect 2 of Thailand's main rivers.
