LITHUANIA ~Klaipeda-sail boat Meridianas~

I JUST LOVE this amazing view... It has something mystic about it!
As being a huge fan of tall sailing ships for years, I'm so happy with this card... It is one of my dreams to sailing on one only powered by wind...(But maybe I will be seasick the whole time...:D)
...Bit sad that it is now a restaurant and don't sail anymore... Thanks a lot!!

Nice stamp too!!Depicted on this stamp from 2009 is Mecislovas Reinys,a Roman Catholic bishop.
Some interesting point: He successfully defended his doctoral thesis in Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (BELGIUM)!!! in 1912. With his fellow students he worked at organizing a Lithuanian students' league.

The threemasted sail boat Meridianas is one of the most beautiful symbols of the city Klaipeda. The boat was~built in 1948 in Finland.Today it houses a restaurant in which one can try "Rainekes" beer brewed in accordance with the old traditions.A view of the Meridianas, moored in Klaipėda, Lithuania. She was constructed in 1948 and was used to train sailors. Today, she is primarily a tourist attraction and restaurant.
