FRANCE ~Altkirch- Maison du Bailli~

Altkirch is in the Haut-Rhin department of the Alsace region.The town is in an attractive location on a raised hill.

During the Ancient Regime, a bailli was the man who represented the King of France, in the cities located in northern France. He was responsible for the local administration and application of the justice.
He was living in an house called, La Maison du Bailli.
