UKRAINE ~Kiev-UNESCO~

Got two lovely cards today... Cocoa Beach, sounds really exotic (the card says that you can see the launch tower of Space Kennedy Center but I must admit I can't found it???)
And a beautiful monastry from Ukraine, the architecture is so special and different from anything you find here in Western Europe.... I think for most of us, Ukraine is still an unknown country. And thanks to my postcardcollection I have the chance to see a bit of all this beauty. ^___^ GREAT!!!

The territory of Ukraine is the biggest in Europe after Russia.

The Pechersk Lavra or Cave Monastery in Kiev is one of the oldest monasteries in Eastern Europe, it is the spiritual centre and the most sacred place in the Ukraine, so it comes as no surprise that it is included on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites. The Lavra itself was built more than a thousand years ago over a labyrinth of caves that run under the hillside that is now Kiev.
