The Old Point Loma Lightouse, active from 1855 to 1891, was re-lighted in ceremonies on March23, 1984. The lighthouse is the centerpiece of Cabrillo National Monument with a spectacular view of San Diego Harbor. It was not just for housing a light, it was also the home of the people who take care of the light.
