USA ~Okefenokee-Natioanl Wildlife Refugee~

Sent by Julie. Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge Suwannee Canal is located in southeastern Georgia and northeastern Florida. The swamp is still in a relatively primitive state and contains virgin pine forests, stands of black gum and cypress, and grassland. Wildlife includes alligators and other reptiels, deer, bears and several hundred species of birds. In 1937 most of the swamp was made a national wildlife refuge.
