Lovely panaoramic view of an old dutch farmhouse...and ofcourse with their famous dutch cows!!(NL-1153623).The beautiful environment is excellent for making varied bicycle or walking tours. Thanks a lot Sake!
With nice Europe Stamp, the water theme of Amsterdam, which symbolizes the position and attractiveness of the Netherlands as wetlands.
Overijssel is a province of the Netherlands in the central eastern part of the country. The province's name means "Lands across river IJssel". The capital city of Overijssel is Zwolle and the largest city is Enschede.
This site is dedicated to my hobby: collecting written and stamped (from country of origin) postcards! Postcard collecting is a very addictive hobby, but its a lot of fun, and you get in touch with lots of nice people worldwide...

THE NETHERLANDS ~ Amsterdam-UNESCO~
I started again to send cards on the official site because it's always a surprise from where the postcard will come and what kind of postcard it will be...
So this really lovely typical canal view is from The Netherlands (NL-1037311), another dutch speaking country and a close neighbour to me...Heel erg bedankt Anneke!!:D
Great stamps with values still in Guldens (before the euro)

Amsterdam (capital of the Netherlands)is home to more nationalities than any other city in the world. Its inhabitants all make the city what it is, a bustling melting pot of people and cultures. Every person who has come to Amsterdam to settle has made a life for themselves here. They have all made their mark and put down roots.
The 17th-century canals of Amsterdam located in the heart of Amsterdam, were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2010.

NETHERLANDS ~Hollandsche Bloemenvelden~
This card shows a typical dutch view (NL-945831)... The sender got this "vintage" card from het dad who collected them over the years and now she can send them around the world... A lovely story!:D Thanks Yvon!

Even the stamps are from before the euro (still in guldens)

The Netherlands is renowned as the land of tulips and there is no better time of year to visit the flower fields than spring, when the bulbs are in full bloom.

NETHERLANDS ~Dutch Dolmes-Drenthe~
Got a very interesting card from my neighbouring country Holland (NL-870313)... Everyone knows Stonehenge in England but I never heard of older and more numerous megalithes in Holland...And they are only 194 km (121 miles) from where I live...
...There are a lot of mysteries abouth them...Why did these simple farmers make such a tremendous effort to drag those heavy boulders to a construction site and pile them up to making a huge stonegrave? And how on earth did they do this..?

With very nice stamps!!

There are more numerous Dolmens in the Netherlands than anywhere else. Of the 53 Dolmens in the Netherlands, 52 of them are located in the province of Drenthe.A Dolmen today is just a remnant of a burial monument. The gigantic rocks were originally out of sight under a mound of sand or earth. Discoveries have revealed that the Dolmen was a communal burial tomb. They would contain the remains of up to a hundred people, making them a virtual cemetery.

THE NETHERLANDS ~The world famous book shelf, Anne Frank house~
Got a very special postcard today...This card shows the place where she wrote her famous diary that a lot of people must have read or known...I really think that the story of Anne is a very sad but touching story that should be remembered and treasured forever. Heel erg bedankt Wendela!!
On October 14th, PostNL has launchend a real stamp, featuring Postcrossing!I must be one of the first to receive this stamp. GREAT!!

The Anne Frank House is probably the most famous attraction in Amsterdam. This is the actual house where Anne Frank, her family, and four others spent two years in hiding before being betrayed and turned in to the Nazis. This house was converted into a museum to preserve the horrific memories of the Holocaust. Her diary was found, kept and published in 1947. The book has been translated into 67 languages.
..."Think of all the beauty still left around us and be happy." Anne Frank...

The NETHERLANDS ~Maassluis- ferry boat to Rozenburg~
And another lovely card from a neighbouring country "Holland"...The Netherlands is a geographically low-lying country, with about 27% of its area and 60% of its population located below sea level. Thanks Callista!
With great stamps too!H.M. Queen Wilhelmina issued on septembre 23 1980!
Maassluis is a town in the province of South Holland. The 'New Waterway' river' is a busy shipping route since it is the primary access to one of the busiest ports in the world, the Europoort of Rotterdam. There are no bridges or tunnels across the Nieuwe Waterweg, which is the artificial mouth of the river Rhine. The ferry leaves every 20 minutes from Maassluis and Rozenburg, and during rush hour every 10 minutes. The (double-ended) ferryboat "Staeldiep" from 1970 has a capacity of 39 passenger cars and up to 380 persons.

NETHERLANDS ~Zealand~
After a few disappointing experiences on the main Postcrossing site I decided to stop for a while... Really bad postcards, expired cards... And I just ask for a lovely tourist type of card that shows me something from their OWN country. That can't be so difficult, I think...
But I must admit, I'm hooked on it... finding "unexpected" surprise cards in my mailbox... so I'm started again and here is my first really nice card from "a neighboring country",Zeeland (NL-576746) on the dutch coast! Living so near the coast and go there almost every weekend must be wonderful... I'm a little bit jealous!!:D:D

Zeeland also called Zealand in English and Zeelandic, is the westernmost province of the Netherlands. The province, located in the south-west of the country, consists of a number of islands (hence its name, meaning "sea-land")!

NETHERLANDS ~Domburg~
Received a wonderful and really laaaarge panoramic view from the dutch coast. I'm a bit jealous to read that the sender lives only about 500 meters from the sea... It must be a great feeling to live so near our beautiful Northsea and to go there anytime you want!:D (NL-485962)
...For me its a two hours drive by car to visit our coast. :(

Domburg is a seaside resort on the North Sea, on the northwest coast of Walcheren in the Dutch province of Zeeland.

Received a "funny" looking card from Netherland (NL-418110)!The license plate says "Greetings" from Lelystad... Again a card from a neighbouring country.. I love each card but sometimes I wish to receive an official from a bit more exotic place...

Lelystad is a municipality and a city in the centre of the Netherlands, and it is the capital of the province of Flevoland. The city, built on reclaimed land, was founded in 1967 and was named afterCornelis Lely, who engineered the Afsluitdijk, making the reclaiming possible. Lelystad is approximately 5 metres (16 ft) below sea level.

NETHERLAND ~Enkhuizen~

At the most easterly point of the region stands Enkhuizen which owes its prosperity to the Zuiderzee in the Golden Century. In the monumental centre there is still much to discover that brings back the memory of the Dutch East India Company period such as the 16th century Drommedaris tower. Adjacent to the historic town centre, the Zuiderzee Museum portrays a picture of life and the past at sea.
